High-Level Travel Notice Issued for Ireland
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a Level 4 Travel Health Notice for Ireland due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The CDC stated there are limited transportation available, and some businesses are operating, usually with significant restrictions. Quarantine measures or entry restrictions are in place for U.S. citizen travelers.
Local media reported on January 25, 2021, “There is a huge volume of disease in the country, and the recent surge in cases continues to place an unprecedented strain on hospitals and other frontline healthcare services. The answer lies in driving down social contacts and congregation in all settings, including workplaces. We urge all employers to facilitate home working as much as possible and to ensure strict adherence to public health measures in the workplace.”
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Ireland has reported 2,970 related fatalities.
