Cuba Celebrates Impressive COVID-19 Vaccination Rate

The Cuban government continues to remove restrictions as the island's immunization rate nears 100%, reported Xinhua on October 24, 2021.

According to the Health Ministry, about 62% of Cubans are fully immunized against COVID-19 with the Soberana 02, Abdala, or Soberana Plus vaccine.

As part of the post-COVID-19 pandemic reopening plan, the Cuban seaside resorts of Varadero, Cayo Coco, and Cayo Santa Maria will welcome local tourists.

And Cuban restaurants, cafeterias, and sports facilities have gradually reopened as the national bus, train, and ferry services are expected to resume operations on November 1, 2021.

Meanwhile, in Havana, restrictions on people's movement during the night were lifted.

Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero instructed government officials to follow all safety guidelines strictly.... "We are taking firm steps to move to another stage gradually."

The U.S. CDC publishes an extensive list of 'travel vaccines' prospective visitors to Cuba should consider at least one month before traveling.
